The Leupold VX 6HD 2-12 x42 Rifle Scope is an excellent hunting scope.
I used it on several hunts, and I chose it for shorter range hunting where FOV was key vs long range clarity.
The scope is light, relatively compact and well built. All ideal for hunting.
The glass was excellent at dusk and dawn and I used to harvest several deer out past 200 yards with no issues.
I really like the locking turrets, in this model they are low profile, and you can get a custom turret from Leupold (which I did) which is super helpful for fast dialing of elevation for a specific cartridge/gun combination.
I also think Leupold make the best lens caps in the industry - they use magnets to lock them down, they are smooth and well designed.
I did end up selling it and replacing it with a NF scope however, as I now only shoot with first focal plane MIL reticles, as having to shoot longer is always an option and when you do that you have to consider the issues using a second focal plane scope and always setting to full magnification to use the ballistic reticle.
Many US hunters prefer MOA reticles and I get that, this one has a clean and simple reticle that worked fine. Again i prefer FFP MIL reticles now and that why I chose to switch, no reflection on this excellent scope.
